Insight 125: FaithSoaring Churches Balance Management and Ministry

A bad habit for congregations is to allow the time and energy spent on management activities to grow incrementally over time, and to allow time and energy spent on ministry activities to diminish over time. This happens naturally in many congregations and does not have to be an intentional strategy.

This creates a situation that blocks efforts to become a FaithSoaring Church. The increasing size of management creates complicated procedures to make new decisions and change the direction of the congregation. The decreasing size of ministry activities means there may not be enough new energy and effort to move the congregation outward.
