30 People from 19 Churches Attend First Vision Tuesday
Tuesday, January 16th the first Vision Tuesday was held at the CMBA office sponsored by the association and Southern Mutual Church Insurance at https://www.smcins.com. The meal of chicken plus shrimp and grits was catered by Blue Marlin Restaurant. The speaker was John Daugherty, executive director, Operation Inasmuch at www.operationinasmuch.org.
Operation Inasmuch is a national nonprofit that employs proven models to motivate, train, and equip churches to move more congregants out of the sanctuary seats and into the streets to serve the neediest in their communities. Check out their website for free resources about this approach to community impact and discipleship development that seek to create and sustain a compassion revolution.
Tentative plans are to have a training session for churches and ministries interested in engaging in an Operation Inasmuch Day on Saturday, April 14th, 9:00 a.m. to Noon. Executive director Daugherty will return to lead that training. Each interested church should bring three people to the training that will be provided for free by the association.
If at least 12 churches and ministries are interested in piloting this process, tentative dates for an Operation Inasmuch Day are September 22nd and/or 29th. For more information contact Cathy Locklear at 803.622.0303 or CathyLocklear@ColumbiaMetro.org.
