I was shocked one day when a colleague wanted to hold up as excellent a congregation that was so mediocre it might have to close within a year or two. I visited the congregation and discovered their goal was a mediocre, business-as-usual future. They saw nothing beyond mediocrity.
Too many people want to be liked so much they affirm and bless mediocrity to gain or retain good relationships. I believe while God desires for us to proactively love one another unconditionally, that we also hold one another accountable to achieve leading edge prophetic service.
