Insight 061: FaithSoaring Churches Define Different Ways to Connect with the Congregation

Several decades ago there was primarily one way to connect with congregations. Join. Become a member. Or, become an associate member. Now things are different. Multiple ways exist to connect with congregations. Some relate to the process or stages of connecting. There is membership. There is connecting. There is active participation. There is lurking which is attending some, but primarily observing and not becoming involved or perhaps even formally identified.

Congregations needing to transform should catch up with current membership or connection trends. See people in their various stages of connecting. Affirm each stage and the people committed to them.
