Insight 132: FaithSoaring Churches Have a Deep Commitment to In-Depth Dialogue

One of the symptoms of congregations who are not ready for or resistant to transformation is their lack of openness to dialogue about tough issues. This speaks to a closed culture that does not want to consider new ideas, to acknowledge things that are dysfunctional, and to re-evaluate things that are no longer working.

This can include core value issues around theology and doctrine and how they impact daily life. Ethical issues around morals, lifestyle, professionalism, and confidentiality fit its category. Leadership and management issues around the processes for decision-making and who controls or empowers actions are often at play.
