Insight 209: FaithSoaring Churches Reimage Themselves

The image or reputation of many congregations is not good in their community context. Congregations have not always acted with unconditional love toward people and circumstances in their community context. When this happens, for a congregation to transform, it must reimage itself within its community context.

This will often call for radical action that changes the reputation of the congregation. A reputation of unconditional love with sound convictions about being a Christian-centered and faith-based congregation. It may even call for–wait–changing the name of the congregation, or even taking the name of the congregation’s denomination out of the name of the church.
