Insight 226: FaithSoaring Churches Understand Long-Term Personnel Implications

It makes a tremendous difference in the ability of congregations to transform if they have not painted themselves into a corner regarding long-term financial obligations. Typically, congregations obligate themselves to long-term personnel costs. It is not the creation of staff positions when appropriate in the ministry of the congregation, it is an entitlement mentality the people filing those roles have about their jobs.

There is also an entitlement mentality that develops within the congregation that they should always have that role in the life and ministry of the congregation. The problem is when that is no longer the right position.
