Congregations seeking to transform have responded positively to the call to action to do some contextual research. This research could modulate to an authentic and genuine dialogue with people about their faith and church involvement, but it is not intended to manipulate people into this conversation.
Ask people you encounter in the marketplace: “Do you go to church. If so why, and if not, why not?” Indicate this is a research project of your church. Listen carefully to their answers and offer words of encouragement about a Christ-centered, church-based life. Offer one idea of what you personally find meaningful about church.
