Martin Luther King Jr. Worship and Fellowship Service, January 15th

“Darkness cannot drive out darkness, only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that.”

On the day that commemorates the birth, heritage, and hope of Martin Luther King, Jr., CMBA pastors, staff persons, and layperson are invited to participate in a service of worship and fellowship at 6:00 p.m., Concord Fellowship Baptist Church, 7831 Wilson Boulevard, Columbia.

The worship and fellowship time will express our associational commitment to diversity, reconciliation, mutual respect, and our common journey to together fulfill the Great Commission in the spirit of the Great Commandment.

Our preacher will be Rev. Bill Wright, associate pastor, Temple Baptist Church. Music will be provided by a choir from Temple Zion Baptist Church and the Berea Myanmar Choir from the Burmese church.

We will also commemorate the heritage of Concord Fellowship Baptist Church which formed as a merged church in 2009. One of the congregations which merged into this church was the Martin Luther King, Jr. Baptist Church. The founding pastor was Rev. Lloyd Norris. His daughter, Helena Jackson, will share about the heritage of that congregation.

George Bullard, Director of  CMBA, will share the launching of a multi-cultural leadership development emphasis.
