The twice-annual gathering of the Missionary Leadership Community (Executive Board) will meet at the CMBA office building on Tuesday, September 18th at 11:30 a.m. A deli-tray lunch will be served. We need you to register if you are coming so we can include you in the count. Register at https://goo.gl/forms/zBKRG9wjvEH1bznk1 or click HERE. Also, if you register to attend, we will send you by e-mail the proposals to be considered. Or, if you cannot attend, but would like to see the proposals, send a request to GeorgeBullard@ColumbiaMetro.org.
Who can come? All pastors (or their appointed representatives) are invited to come. Churches may also appoint one or two others from their church to come. Each official church representative can vote on business matters.
What actions are on the agenda? 1. 2019 CMBA budget. 2. Proposal for a pilot year to try a new approach for how churches network with or become members of CMBA (this applies only to new applications from churches not currently connected or members). 3. Proposal to seek a five-year lease for the current CMBA office building and to relocate the staff to a smaller office in the facilities of a member church. 4. Proposal to seek a buyer for the missionary house once the current missionary family vacates the house at the end of 2018. 5. Announcement of the Our One Priority Grant program pilot period for the benefit of member churches. 6. Report from George Bullard and other staff on the current strategic efforts of CMBA.
All the proposed actions have been approved by the Visionary Leadership Community (Administrative Team) and come as official recommendations from them.
Key Dates for September Through November 1st
Thursday, September 20th – Churches Planting Churches with Allen Tipping. This is a Carolina Greenhouse of the Midlands event co-marketed by CMBA. For detail and registration go HERE.
Saturdays September 22nd and 29th – Inasmuch Days in CMBA. Our prayer is to see many churches in our association serving their communities. The Operation Inasmuch ministry has developed helpful tools and approaches to assist churches in conducting successful ministry experiences. Quarters for Jesus is a sample story of how a little girl in a congregation sprang into action to support a compassion revolution through her church. If your church wants to be involved in one of these Saturdays, contact Cathy Locklear at 803.622.0303 or CathyLocklear@ColumbiaMetro.org. She has a training kit and will also personally help your church get ready.
