Prayers For Pastors and Congregations–The Third Sunday of May 2019
A Prayer for Pastors: O Lord, this weekend as I lead worship may I reflect on the transitions and changes many people in my congregation may be experiencing directly or indirectly. In this time of graduations, many people are experiences endings and new beginnings. Children are growing into adults and while it calls for celebrations, it also calls for both tears a of joy and sorrow. May I clearly communicate that this might also be a time for people to move to the next stage of their Christian discipleship, or even renew a relationship with You that has stumbled due to the busy-ness or distractions of life. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
A Prayer for Congregations: O Lord, it is a season of graduations. Times of endings and beginnings. Times of transitions and changes. Times of tears and joy. Times of resetting and new starts. As a Christian disciple it is also a time to reflect on my spiritual journey. Have I made progress in my relationship with You during the previous months and years? Do I need to end the spiritual season I find myself in because I have not been as committed to You as I ought to be? Do I need a new beginning, or a reset or a new start? May these reflections inspire me to renew my commitment to serving as a fully devoted follower of Christ. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
