Register for “Pop-Up” Vision Day Lunch and Speaker on Immigration Issues Tuesday, October 23rd

Periodically a door of opportunity opens that was unexpected and unplanned. Such is the case for this coming Tuesday, October 23rd at Noon in our offices.

We will have a “pop-up” Vision Tuesday Lunch and Speaker with Alan Cross from Montgomery, Alabama on his amazing work on immigration issues and how they intersect with evangelical churches and their ministry. Alan is a Baptist minister, was a pastor in Montgomery, and also serves part-time as a missional strategist on the Montgomery Baptist Association staff. Additionally, he is the director of Community Development Initiatives and works for the Evangelical Immigration Table.

Reservations for lunch are mandatory so we can get the right amount of food. We will take reservations until 3:00 p.m. on Monday. People can register at

It happens that Alan is coming to town on Tuesday, October 23rd. We are planning a special Vision Day in our office on Tuesday at Noon. We will provide lunch–probably bring in trays from Chick-Fil-A or something like that. We will conclude the dialogue by 1:30 p.m. People who do not want lunch can just show up by 12:30 p.m. for the dialogue.

We welcome all comers. This is a last minute “pop-up” event/dialogue so we know people may be tied up. We will meet at our office at 1929 Gadsden Street in Columbia — behind the Governor’s mansion.

Here are links to Alan and his work:

Alan is not new to Columbia. He comes through here and to here from time-to-time. He helped a few years ago with advocacy with our state legislature on humane immigration laws in South Carolina. I have known Alan for a dozen or more years and been with him in Montgomery.
