Your Church Can Participate in Saying Grace Hunger Project on Saturday, September 22nd
Has your church ever participated in a meal packing project to help feed hungry people? Would you like to learn how to do this so perhaps you could sponsor a packing event later? If so, keep reading.
Check out information on this opportunity at www.sayinggracehungerproject.com
As part of the Columbia Metro Baptist Association’s Operation Inasmuch Day on September 22nd, Spring Valley Baptist Church is seeking to pack 100,000 meals for distribution to hungry people. Many of the meals will stay within the Columbia Metro Baptist Association and assist your church and other churches in meeting the needs of hungry people for food, love, and the Good News of Jesus.
Other churches can sponsor a table where you bring 10 to 12 of people as a team from your church where you will pack 2,500 meals in an hour. You should also provide the cost of these meals which is $800. However, if you let the association know you are sponsoring a table, we will pay $500 of this cost to help you participate in feeding hungry people. The meal packing will take place on Saturday, September 22nd at Spring Valley HIgh School. Your team will be on-site for up to two hours. They need to arrive 30 minutes before their scheduled time.
It is important that all volunteers register as this is generally a sold-out event. Please go to www.sayinggracehungerproject.com to reserve your space. You will receive an emailed receipt of your registration. For more information and to let the association know you are coming so we can provide our partial scholarship for your efforts, contact Cathy Locklear at CathyLocklear@ColumbiaMetro.org or 803.622.0303.
